Rev. Stella Burkhalter,

Senior Pastor

Pastor Stella grew up in Laredo, Texas where she was raised in the Catholic Church and spent her teen years in the Assembly of God Church before finding her way to the United Methodist Church in a college, a background which has given her a rich understanding of the many ways we reach out to God and God reaches out to us. Stella is a graduate of The University of Texas and Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary and an ordained elder. She is married to Hunter and has two adult children, Wyatt and Emery. Stella is the author for the Book, “Living Between Alpha and Omega: Praying the Greek Alphabet in Uncertain Times.” She writes blogs and posts videos at www.pastorstella.net You can connect with her at stellaburkhalter@gmail.com.

Alissa Villareal, Office Administrator Children & Youth

Alissa Villarreal, grew up in the United Methodist Church in the Corpus Christi area. She moved to San Marcos in 2001 where she attended and graduated from Texas State University-San Marcos. She has been married to her high school sweetheart, Jason Villarreal for 11 years and they have two daughters, Brooklyn and Peyton. The Villarreals have attended Kyle United Methodist Church for over 5 years now where Alissa has taught Sunday School, served on the Family Ministries committee and has led Vacation Bible School for the past 2 years. Alissa enjoys working with children and looks forward to serving the children and youth of our congregation, helping them to grow in their faith and love for God.

Lisa Starlin


Lisa Starlin wears many hats at KUMC. As the church custodian the chair of the worship committee, she makes sure our spaces are welcoming. Lisa has a true servant’s heart and is happy to serve in the background, which is why we couldn’t get a better photograph!

Jayme Bryson, Church Council Chair

Jayme Bryson serves as the chair of our church council and can usually be seeing doing the hard work. Our church is served by leaders who are elected each year by the membership. Decisions are made by the church council who work alongside the pastor in accordance with the rules of our denomination as stared in the United Methodist Book of Discipline.
